Treading Carefully: The Dangers of Blinding Trust in AI in Safety Management

While ChatGPT offers huge benefits, it is certainly not perfect.  Steven A. Schwartz, a Manhattan lawyer who had ChatGPT create a legal brief, learned the challenges that using ChatGPT can create the hard way.  Schwartz, a lawyer with 30 years of experience, was beyond embarrassed when a judge grilled him for blindly relying upon ChatGPT for legal expertise. There are obvious lessons for the construction safety professional or busy business owner to be derived from Schwartz’s unfortunate story. 

Perhaps ChatGPT isn’t lawyer caliber yet, but it fairs well in creating many of the documents safety professionals use every day.
