We just returned from very hot Scottsdale, AZ, where we attended the Hanson Wade’s Advancing Construction Analytics conference.  This meeting was a collection of pioneering construction companies discussing the art and science of business intelligence, which consists of analyzing traditional data (cost and schedule) in new ways, plus developing metrics on non-traditional data (documents, logs, reports, meeting minutes, estimates, purchase orders, geolocation information and more).  Of course, no presentation concluded without some discussion of adding AI components for post and predictive analysis of construction data. See our full report in this issue. The potential unlocked by the integration of artificial intelligence within construction analytics is far-reaching and increasingly vital for industry progression. Recognizing this, AI Construction News is committed to regularly providing comprehensive coverage of this important discipline.

Our safety column this issue continues with coverage of AI cautions necessary for ChatGPT to help with job-site safety -- plus news and developments on the AI / ChatGPT front.

This issue welcomes our first Planning and Scheduling eBook, one of an ongoing series for using ChatGPT for both new and experienced schedulers and project managers.  Check it out when you read the full article.  The eBooks will be added to our online library for access anytime by subscribers.

Starting with this issue, we'll also run a column on what the general media is reporting in the way of AI in construction.  Let us know if we missed anything.  Also, feel free to contact us any time with comments, critiques or suggestions please.

Next week, we’ll be attending the Builtworlds conference in Chicago.  If any of our readers plan to be there, contact us at [email protected]; we’d like to connect.
